Indian and US ring sizes side by side, bangle sizing, and how to measure accurately at home.

Ring sizes

Our rings are listed in US sizes. If you know your Indian size, or you have measured your finger using the instructions below, read across to find the US size to order.

The two scales don't line up exactly — Indian sizes step about twice as far as US ones, so most Indian sizes fall between two US sizes. Where yours does, take the larger of the two. A ring that sits a little loose can be sized down neatly; one that won't pass the knuckle is unwearable until it's altered.

How to measure

Step by step

Cut a thin strip of paper about 8 cm long.
Wrap it snugly around the base of the finger — not tight.
Mark where the strip overlaps and lay it flat against a ruler.
That length in millimetres is your circumference — match it in the chart above.

Press your thumb toward your little finger as if slipping a bangle on, then measure around the widest part of your hand in that position. Match that circumference in the bangle chart.

16 in sits at the base of the neck, 18 in rests at the collarbone, 20–22 in falls just below. For pendants, 18–20 in is the most versatile.

Measure at the end of the day when fingers are slightly larger, avoid measuring when cold, and if you're between sizes go up — especially for wider bands.

Most plain bands can be resized by up to two sizes free within 90 days. Eternity bands, pavé-set designs and bangles cannot be resized.

Before you decide

Four things that catch people out

Measure in the evening, at room temperature. Fingers are smallest first thing in the morning and in cold weather, and can swell by half a size by the end of a warm day. A ring measured at 8am in January will feel tight in June.
A wide band needs a slightly larger size. Anything over about 6mm sits across more of the finger and feels tighter at the same measurement. Go up a quarter to a half size.
Your knuckle is usually the constraint, not your finger. The ring has to pass the knuckle but sit at the base. If there is a big difference between the two, size for the knuckle and tell us — a small internal sizing bead stops it spinning.
Both hands are different. Your dominant hand is typically a quarter to half a size larger. Measure the finger the ring is actually for.

Most plain bands can be resized by up to two sizes free within 90 days of purchase. Eternity bands, pavé-set designs and bangles cannot be resized — the stones run the whole way round, so there is nowhere to cut. On those, sizing matters more, which is why it is worth asking.
